Anaheim Comic Con Kicks Off April 29th with John de Lancie, Denise Crosby, Chase Masterson, Robert Picardo and More

If you’re into the so-called comic culture (really just an amalgam of fantasy, sci-fi, and comic cultures crossing multiple media forms, but who’s paying that much attention) you’ll want to check out the Anaheim Comic Con starting Friday, April 29th and wrapping up on Sunday, May 1st. If you haven’t already purchased tickets, you can still get them. Prices range from $25 for one day to $45 for all three days. There’s also a VIP package for $150 which includes some neat lithographs and a few other perks. All in all, quite reasonable, and if you live in the Los Angeles Metro region or Orange County you really only have to struggle with parking.

There will be plenty of Trek represented at the convention. From the various Star Trek series you’ll be able to see John de Lancie (best known for his extraordinary role as the iconic “Q”), Denise Crosby (the legendary and short-lived Tasha Yar from TNG), Robert Picardo (the cranky but lovable Emergency Medical Hologram, The Doctor from Voyager), Chase Masterson (sexy Leeta of Quark’s bar in several episodes of DS9), Richard Herd (L’kor in TNG’s “Birthright I & II” and Admiral Owen Paris in several episodes of Voyager), Olivia d’Abo (Q’s reluctant student, Amanda Rogers, in TNG’s  “True Q”), Catherine Hicks (Dr. Gillian Taylor, Kirk’s love interest in Star Trek IV: TVH), Rick Worthy (best known as Noah Lessing on Voyager’s awesome “Equinox I & II”), Lee Arenberg (most remembered as Daimon Bok from TNG episode “Bloodlines”), Joseph Culp (Raimus from DS9 episode “Honor Among Thieves”), and the eternally memorable Sally Kellerman (Dr. Elizabeth Dehner on TOS’ “Where No Man Has Gone Before”).

Also on hand will be Star Trek: DS9 comic book artist Jerry Bingham and Star Trek comic book inker Arne Starr. Most personalities appear to be available on Saturday, but some also appear on Friday or Sunday. I’d check out the details on the convention page before committing to a particular time. If that’s not enough, TrekNews will also be attending in order to continue the never-ending quest for more Trek news.

Tickets and further guest information is available at Wizard’s Anaheim Comic Con website.
