Star Trek Celebrates 45 Years this Weekend in the Garden State

Creation Entertainment’s Official Star Trek Convention celebrating the 45th anniversary of the franchise comes to New Jersey this weekend. Friday, June 24th through Sunday, June 26th.

Tickets are available in various packages, ranging from the “Gold Weekend Package” which for $369 offers incentives such as reserved seats, first-serve autographs, uniquely color-coded wristbands, and free admission to a dessert party, to the decidedly less delicious, yet more affordable $59 general weekend admission pass. Single day passes range from $40 to $50 per day.

Making appearances will be Michael Dorn (the endearing, ruffle-headed Worf), Nichelle Nichols (the entrancing Lt. Uhura), Connor Trinneer (Enterprise’s “Trip” Tucker), Barbara March and Gwynyth Walsh (Lursa and B’Etor of the Duras sisters, respectively), Dominic Keating (Enterprise’s Lt. Malcolm Reed), Grace Lee Whitney (fan-favorite Yeoman Janice Rand), Nana Visitor (DS9’s Major Kira Nerys), Rene Auberjonois (DS9’s shape-shifting Odo), and Bobby Clark, who famously engaged Kirk in “trial by combat” as Gorn in TOS perennial favorite “Arena”.

Events are to include a celebrity cabaret showcasing the comedic styling of Dominic Keating, a cocktail party, poetry and prose readings by Rene Auberjonois and Nana Visitor, a trivia contest, a costume parade, and a music video contest.

This convention will also mark the first time Creation (in partnership with StarTrek.com) will be streaming sessions live from the convention online.

Tickets and information are available at Creation’s website.
