WATCH: Patrick Stewart Carries the Olympic Torch

British actor and star of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Sir Patrick Stewart took his turn on the Olympic torch relay on Monday.

Regarding the experience, Stewart said “I have attended world premiers of movies that have not had the excitement and the sense of pride and pleasure that people are exhibiting today.”

“The great thing is, it’s the first day of the school holidays and so all the children are out. It was thrilling. I shall never forget today.” he remarked.

When asked if he would be watching the Olympic games, Stewart said “I’ve got my seat already settled and I shall be watching a lot of it.”
