STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Mobile App Launches — Exclusive Content To Be Revealed

On Thursday, Paramount and Qualcomm released the official STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS mobile app.

As announced by INTO DARKNESS star Alice Eve during this year’s CES, the app acts as a reward game for users who view and scan images and trailers that have been released from the upcoming film.

The first big reveal will come during this Sunday’s Super Bowl, where app users will have the chance to scan Paramount’s STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS commercial to unlock exclusive content.

Currently available for iOS devises in the iTunes App Store, it will soon be available on the Google Play Store as well.

According to the press release, some of the app’s features include:

• An audio scan function that can be turned on to automatically recognize and reward users for watching “STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS” content on TV and other media;

• An image scan function that enables users to interact with images printed or viewable in the real world;

• An audio scan function that can be turned on to automatically recognize and reward users for watching “STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS” content on TV and other media;

• An image scan function that enables users to interact with images printed or viewable in the real world;

• A geofencing function for location-based experiences;

• New “STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS” content, such as videos, images and wallpapers delivered directly to users’ mobile devices;

• Exclusive opportunities and special offers only available to app users;
