Scott Bakula Comments On Possibilities Of “Enterprise” Reunion

In recent weeks, a successful Veronica Mars Kickstarter campaign combined with the release of the first season of Star Trek: Enterprise on Blu-ray has fueled speculation and interest in a possible Enterprise cast reunion.

Canceled after four seasons, the show is remembered by many fans as having just hit its stride when it was axed in 2005. In a recent interview with the LA Times, Enterprise star Scott Bakula, who played Captain Jonathan Archer, was asked if he’d be open to a fifth season fueled by Kickstarter campaign.

I talked about that in the beginning, before Kickstarter was around. If the fans want us to do a movie or the fans want more episodes, why don’t we let the fans be investors in the show? This is eight years ago and it didn’t go anywhere. I’d love to do [a new season], but the big problem with our show is that it requires effects and sets. A lot of our sets have been sold. Our bridge is in Germany, assembled in a guy’s garage.

Bakula went on to discuss his meeting with the fan and a possible filming location, if the chips were to fall into place.

He’s a fan, he’s got a whole museum of stuff. He gave me a card at a convention in London. He said if you’re ever in Germany, I’ve got the bridge, I’ve got the uniforms, I’ve got everything. I guess we could all shoot in Germany in his garage.

The first season of Star Trek: Enterprise on Blu-ray is now available at Amazon.
