Roberto Orci To Direct ‘Star Trek 3’

Roberto Orci To Direct 'Star Trek 3'

Following weeks of speculation and rumors surrounding the vacant ‘Star Trek 3’ directing duties, sources have told Variety that Paramount and Skydance have tapped Roberto Orci to helm the 13th Star Trek film.

After a nearly decade-long working relationship, Orci recently split from his Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness writing partner, Alex Kurtzman in April.

Orci has been busy as of late writing the screenplay for the next Star Trek film alongside J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay and had been vying for the open director’s seat, left by J.J. Abrams’ departure.
