BREAKING: Leaked STAR TREK BEYOND Photos: Boutella's Alien Character, New Starfleet Uniforms, More (SPOILERS)

STAR TREK BEYOND, the third installment of the rebooted franchise began filming earlier this summer in Vancouver, Canada. While little is known about the film and its storyline, today we received leaked photos from the outdoor shooting location, including: updated Starfleet uniforms and a look at Sofia Boutella’s alien species.

SPOILER WARNING

The images below, provided by ScreenCrush, show director Justin Lin along with the film’s stars Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Sofia Boutella and Anton Yelchin shooting against a green screen. Pine, who returns to the role of Kirk is also shown in the updated (more rugged) Starfleet uniform with Boutella, as a pale alien with white hair and dark facial markings — reminiscent of the Niberian race that was seen at the beginning of “Star Trek Into Darkness.” The duo seem to be working together against a common enemy.

Check out the photos and video below.

Directed by Justin Lin, “Star Trek Beyond” stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Sofia Boutella and Idris Elba. The film will hit theaters on July 8, 2016.
