New Release Date For 'Star Trek Beyond'

Paramount has announced “Star Trek Beyond” will hit theaters two weeks later than originally planned.

Originally announced to be released on July 8, the studio has pushed the film’s debut until July 22. According to Variety, the 13th Star Trek film will share its release date with Warner Bros.’ “King Arthur” and Fox’s “Ice Age: Collision Course”.

Directed by Justin Lin and produced by J.J. Abrams and Roberto Orci, “Star Trek Beyond” stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Sofia Boutella and Idris Elba. The film will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Star Trek franchise.
