U.S. Postal Service Releasing 50th Anniversary Star Trek Stamps

The United States Postal Service has announced a new set of Star Trek forever stamps to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the franchise in 2016.

The stamps are part of the USPS planned subjects for release in 2016, as described during a press conference by acting director of Stamp Services Mary-Anne Penner on Dec. 29.

Designed by the Heads of State, lead by art director Antonio Alcala, the four stamps include:

  • The Starship Enterprise shown inside a Starfleet insignia
  • The silhouette of a crewman on a transporter
  • The Enterprise orbiting a planet within the silhouette of the Vulcan hand salute
  • The silhouette of the Starship Enterprise with stars and a planet shown within it

2016 USPS Star Trek stamps

Other announced stamps include Shirley Temple, Views of Our Planet, Pluto—Explored!, Soda Fountain Favorites, Jack-o’-lanterns, and more.
