[PHOTO GALLERY] STAR TREK BEYOND Fan Event

Paramount hosted a special fan event on Friday, May 20th in celebration of the upcoming release of Star Trek Beyond and the 50th anniversary of the franchise. The star-studded event was attended by director Justin Lin, producer J.J. Abrams, stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, “Mythbusters” star Adam Savage, and several lucky ticket winners (including readers of TrekNews.net).

In addition to hyping the film’s upcoming release and the premiere of the second trailer, a street on the studio backlot was named after Leonard Nimoy, with a dedication ceremony led by Quinto. We previously posted a complete recap of the entire event.

Directed by Justin Lin, written by Simon Pegg, Doug Jung, Roberto Orci, John D. Payne and Patrick McCay, Star Trek Beyond stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 22 after premiering during San Diego Comic-Con on July 20.
