50th Anniversary Star Trek Barbie Collection Announced

The Star Trek 50th anniversary marketing campaign rolls on, as CBS announced on June 6 that they’ve partnered with Mattel to create three Star Trek Barbie figures.

The figures of Kirk, Spock, and Uhura, all in their Original Series attire, will be in stores later this month, and cost $34.95.

These Barbie dolls join the ranks of other merchandise that is being created this year for the franchise’s 50th anniversary. Other products include a MEGA Bloks line, an Enterprise drone, a makeup collection, postage stamps, clothes, board games, and toy models.

Official descriptions:

Kirk

As Star Trek™ turns 50, we look back and celebrate one of the most influential television series of all time. Dressed in his classic gold uniform tunic, Captain James Tiberius Kirk leads his crew in exploring the final frontier. Sculpted to recreate the actor’s likeness, this Captain Kirk doll stands handsomely and features realistic details from the original costume, including the iconic Starfleet insignia.

Spock

As Star Trek™ turns 50, we look back and celebrate one of the most influential television series of all time. Dressed in his iconic blue sciences uniform and displaying his calm, logic driven demeanor, First Officer Spock stands steadfastly by his captain and crew. Sculpted to match the actor’s likeness and depicting the character’s Vulcan and human heritages, Spock gives the traditional Vulcan salute as he wishes us to “live long and prosper.”

Uhura

As Star Trek™ turns 50, we look back and celebrate one of the most influential television series of all time. Dressed in her iconic red uniform, Lieutenant Uhura stands poised and powerful. Managing all incoming and outgoing ship communications, Uhura is an integral part of the U.S.S. Enterprise command crew. Uhura is smart, savvy, and futuristically fabulous, with a face sculpted in the likeness of the actress who brought this groundbreaking character to life.

The dolls are available to purchase at The Barbie Collection website.
