A trusted source has told TrekNews.net that CBS may be working on a discussion and recap-focussed series that would air following each episode of Bryan Fuller’s new Star Trek TV series on CBS All Access.
Similar to AMC’s The Talking Dead which airs after each new episode of The Walking Dead, the show would include guests, celebrity Trekkies, former Star Trek actors, along with cast members and crew from the new Star Trek series that will debut in early 2017.
The series is said to air live in the US on CBS All Access, with episodes being made available to subscribers shortly after.
We’ve been told that an announcement could come as early as next week at San Diego Comic-Con.
This should be considered only a rumor at this time, as we have not been able to confirm with CBS.
The first episode of the new Star Trek series will premiere with a broadcast TV special on CBS. That episode and all subsequent episodes will be exclusively shown in the US on the video streaming service CBS All Access.
Alex Kurtzman, Bryan Fuller and Rod Roddenberry have been announced as executive producers, with Nicholas Meyer (director of The Wrath of Khan and The Undiscovered Country and co-writer of The Voyage Home) is serving as a writer and consulting producer.
