First STAR TREK: DISCOVERY Director Confirmed

The first episode of Star Trek: Discovery, which is slated to launch on CBS and CBS All Access in less than six months, now has a director. David Semel, whose credits include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Roswell, Angel and My Own Worst Enemy, has been confirmed to direct the first episode of the new Star Trek series.

Semel has also recently worked on two Amazon series, The Man In The High Castle and the upcoming Goliath series, which stars Billy Bob Thornton.

The first episode of Star Trek: Discovery will premiere with a broadcast TV special on CBS. That episode and all subsequent episodes will be exclusively shown in the US on the video streaming service CBS All Access.

Alex Kurtzman, Bryan Fuller and Rod Roddenberry have been announced as executive producers, with Nicholas Meyer (director of The Wrath of Khan and The Undiscovered Country and co-writer of The Voyage Home) is serving as a writer and consulting producer.
