A leaked photo surfaced on Saturday, which is said to have been taken by someone currently working on the set of Star Trek: Discovery and may be our first look at the show’s Klingons in full makeup and wardrobe.
According to the source of the photo, a friend is “currently working on the set for Star Trek: Discovery,”. The photo’s caption leads us to believe that the person who shot it is working on the show as a Klingon himself.
The Facebook screen capture that was first posted to Trek BBS, below. The photo’s caption on Instagram (and then posted to Facebook) reads:
“Hanging out with my new Klingon Crew today on the set of the new #startrek”
Star Trek: Discovery is currently shooting at Toronto’s Pinewood Studios.
The costumes definitely appear to be very similar to those shown in the production video that was released last week.
We know the warrior race will be a big part of Star Trek: Discovery, as Chris Obi, Shazad Latif and Mary Chieffo have been announced as playing the primary Klingons in the show.
The first episode of Star Trek: Discovery will premiere with a broadcast TV special on CBS later this year. That episode and all subsequent episodes will be exclusively shown in the U.S. on the video streaming service CBS All Access.
Alex Kurtzman, Bryan Fuller and Rod Roddenberry will act as executive producers, with Nicholas Meyer (director of The Wrath of Khan and The Undiscovered Country and co-writer of The Voyage Home) and Kirsten Beyer serving as a writers and consulting producers. Stepping in for Bryan Fuller as co-showrunners are Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts.
