The Star Trek: Picard portion of the Star Trek Universe panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con was jam-packed with newsworthy reveals on Saturday.
The panel, which included series star Patrick Stewart, showrunner Michael Chabon, writers Kirsten Beyer and Akiva Goldsman, along with cast members Alison Pill, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera, and Harry Treadway not only unveiled a new trailer for the series but also broke the news that Star Trek: The Next Generation alum Jonathan Frakes (William Riker), Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi), Brent Spiner (Data/B4), Jonathan Del Arco (Hugh the Borg) along with Star Trek: Voyager‘s Jeri Ryan (Annika Hansen/Seven of Nine) will appear in the new series.
Some character reveals were made and it was noted that Evan Evagora plays Elnor, Alison Pill plays researcher Dr. Agnes Jurati, Harry Treadaway plays Narek, Isa Briones plays Dahj, and Santiago Cabrera plays ex-Starfleet officer Cristobal “Chris” Rio.

Additionally, the originally rumored release date of December 2019 for the show, has been pushed back to early 2020.

Production on Star Trek: Picard began in April, and it is expected to wrap in mid-September. The series will debut in late 2019 on CBS All Access in the United States and will be available through Amazon Prime Video in most other countries.
