Complete STAR TREK: VOYAGER DVD Set Coming In March

Complete STAR TREK: VOYAGER DVD Set Coming In March

Hot on the heels of last week’s news of a complete Deep Space Nine DVD set, we can now confirm that CBS Home Entertainment will also serve up Star Trek: Voyager – The Complete Series on DVD in March.

Much like the DS9 set, Voyager will will come in newly designed packaging when it’s released on March 7, 2017.

Unfortunately, also like that DS9 set, it doesn’t appear that any new supplemental material will be included. However, the previously released Voyager DVDs were chock-full of informative bonus features. Those are all expected to be included on these discs as well.

Voyager was originally released in single-season DVD packaging back in 2004.

The show, which aired on UPN from 1995 to 2001, starred Kate Mulgrew, Robert Beltran, Tim Russ, Roxann Dawson, Jennifer Lien, Robert Duncan McNeill, Ethan Phillips, Robert Picardo, Jeri Ryan and Garrett Wang. It was the fourth live-action Star Trek series to air.

The face for Janeway on seasons 1-3 and 4-6 looks like a failed photoshop botox. Really hope the boxes don’t look like that. I might get this anyway. It’s a great show.

I bought the box set on DVD to see it on the big screen, last time I watched it was when it originally aired in the 90’s and I missed season 7. I’ve watched seasons 1-3 and I think they should of kept Kes , the episode where she turned into a “guy” really showcased her talents. Also should of got rid of Cha-ko-tay, really didn’t add much to the over-all thing, maybe made him a part-time thing like Ceska was, and get rid of Nelix. And have 7 of 9. The B’Elana person was good, Paris was good, Harry Kim good, Tuvok good, Janeway good. To sum it up, more women, less guys and have Torres kill or seriously maim someone every other season. How many people when they watch the episode where B’Elana gets the pong-far and fights with the Vulcan hum the fight theme from the original series?…

Yeah, the original ST series & movies didn’t have a lot of stupid or annoying characters constantly on the screen. The annoying Knee-licks & Doctor really ruined a lot of episodes for me. But I liked Voyager more than NG. NG was popular mostly because it was the only ST out there except for the few movies since the original series at the time. Way too many NG episodes tried to adopt a Shakespirian style, with too much emphasis on classic books & plays that we were all forced to read in school. But if that wasn’t corny enough, they have Data play a role like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz, or worse — aspiring to be Sherlock Holmes… were we watching Sci-Fi or Daytime/School time PBS? I knew when Masterpiece Theater was on PBS, we didn’t need it in ST NG episodes.

So, what’s the difference between these & the old DVDs? Just re-packaging? Except for a few action shots filmed in 35mm, most of the scenes were produced in only 360-480p NTSC. So we won’t be seeing any better quality beyond what any good TV or DVD player can do scaling up the show.
