Release Date for Star Trek: TNG – Season 1 on Blu-ray

Star Trek: TNG, Season 1 on Blu-ray Release Date

According to Amazon’s UK site, Star Trek: The Next Generation – Season 1 box set on Blu-ray will be released on July 23, 2012. While this has yet to be confirmed with CBS or on Amazon’s US site, that date would imply that a North American release can be expected around that time.

With the release of The Next Level, a Blu-ray sampler disc released earlier this year, coupled with the fact that it’s the 25th anniversary of the series, interest in TNG appears to be at a fever pitch.

Prior to the release of the sampler disc, CBS announced that all seven seasons of TNG would be remastered and digitally converted for Blu-ray release.

I thought the sampler looked absolutely amazing. The team working on the remastering should be commended. Regardless of the price (within reason), I’ll be purchasing all 7 seasons.
