On Thursday, William Shatner sent a tweet to Commander Chris Hadfield of the Canadian Space Agency, who is currently serving as the International Space Station’s Flight Engineer for Expedition 34. Somewhat surprisingly Hadfield not only responded to Shatner, but also addressed him as “Captain”.
Check out the incredible exchange below.
@cmdr_hadfield Are you tweeting from space? MBB

To which Cmdr. Hadfield responded:
@williamshatner Yes, Standard Orbit, Captain. And we’re detecting signs of life on the surface.

Cmdr. Hadfield went on to post a photo of Shatner holding a cutout of himself.
The last time @williamshatner and I met was in another dimension – 2D. (From @csa_asc contest – asc-csa.gc.ca/eng/missions/e… …) twitter.com/Cmdr_Hadfield/…

The Canadian Space Agency later invited Shatner to visit their facility and speak with Cmdr. Hadfield live from space.
. @williamshatner – Please come to the CSA and chat with @cmdr_hadfield live from space. We’d love to show you around.
