Next week, thousands of Star Trek fans will descend upon Las Vegas, Nevada for the world’s largest Star Trek convention as Creation Entertainment’s Official Star Trek Convention returns to the Rio Suites Hotel & Casino.
Kicking off Thursday, August 8th, the convention runs through Sunday, August 11th with over 100 celebrity guests. Announced guests include William Shatner, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig, Jeri Ryan, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Brent Spiner, Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn, LeVar Burton, Alice Eve, Terry Farrell, Nicole de Boer, Alexander Siddig, Connor Trinneer, Dominic Keating, John de Lancie, Robert Picardo, Linda Park, Denise Crosby, Nana Visitor, Rene Auberjonis, Garrett Wang, Tim Russ, Chase Masterson, and many more.
Fans attending this year’s convention will be able to purchase tickets for a wide variety of meet-and-greets, autographs, and photo ops. Some of the special food funtions include a Voyager/Enterpise lunch with Tim Russ, Jennifer Lien, Linda Park, Dominic Keating, Garrett Wang, Ethan Phillips, and Robert Picardo, along with a 20th Anniversary of Deep Space Nine luncheon with Rene Auberjonois, Alexander Siddig, Nana Visitor, Terry Farrell, Armin Shimerman, James Darren, Aron Eisenberg, Nicole de Boer, Casey Biggs, Chase Masterson, Jeffrey Combs, Marc Alaimo, Max Grodenchik, and Andy Robinson.
In addition to the guests, the dealers’ room will be filled with vendors from around the world and will give fans the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of Star Trek and sci-fi memorabilia. Huston Huddleston’s restored Enterprise-D bridge will also be on display for fans to sit down and take photos, thanks to a fundraiser spearheaded by our friends at Trek Radio.
This year, the fans in Las Vegas will attempt regain the world record for the most people in Star Trek costumes in one place. The current record of 1063 was set at least year’s Star Trek London event.
