If you were waiting on the release of complete TOS and TNG series collections on Blu-ray, the wait is over.

CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Media Distribution have announced the release of Star Trek: The Next Generation The Complete Series and the Star Trek: The Original Series: The Complete Series.

Both available as a complete collection for the first-time ever in the U.S., the sets will come with newly designed packaging (seen below) and all of the bonus features included in the previously released individual season sets.

We are currently not aware of any new bonus material being added to either the TOS or TNG collections.

According to an article on StarTrek.com, Star Trek: The Original Series: The Complete Series on Blu-ray will be priced at approximately $99.99 and Star Trek: The Next Generation The Complete Series on Blu-ray will fetch approximately $208.99 U.S. A DVD version of the TNG set will cost approximately $144.99.

Both the TOS and TNG sets are scheduled for a June 2016 release.

In my opinion the Next Generation DVD box art looks far better than the blu-ray box art.

Said this on Facebook…You want people to buy this? Then you have to remove the shows from Netflix. It is more logical to view every series of Trek for $8 a month than pay over $200 for the same product and special features. Also, there is now the CBS All Access option now available for $6 a month. Only negative here is that there are commercials.

The shows aren’t even on UK netflix. Just the movies.

Will these be sold in all retailers or just Amazon? (I don’t like Amazon!)
