BREAKING: Here It Is! The Second STAR TREK BEYOND Trailer

Second Star Trek Beyond Trailer

Here it is! The highly-anticipated second trailer for this summer’s STAR TREK BEYOND!

Following the release of the first action-heavy trailer, featuring the Beastie Boys’ song “Sabotage”, dropped in December 2015, many criticized the film as being “The Fast and the Furious in space”. Star Trek Beyond co-writer and star Simon Pegg said that premature evaluation was “reductive, asinine criticism”.

After seeing the second trailer, how do you feel about Star Trek Beyond? Tell us in the comments below.

We’ll have a full breakdown of the second trailer here on TrekNews.net shortly.

Directed by Justin Lin, written by Simon Pegg, Doug Jung, Roberto Orci, John D. Payne and Patrick McCay, Star Trek Beyond stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 22.

By the use of such hackneyed dialog as ” The fear of dying is what keeps us alive”, not to mention the motorcycle (motorcycle!!?? in an anti-grav technologic world??) stunts, it’s safe to assume no real imagination or inspiration lies at the core of yet another failed attempt to re-imagine NuTrek as worthy of it’s successor..too bad, as I like Simon Pegg, and wanted his writing to lift this from the mediocre pile the other two films ended up on.

Well, that was uninteresting. Hopefully the new TV series will mark the return of Star Trek.

I am annoyed that they keep trying to destroy the Enterprise in every movie.

I like this trailer more than the last one. Hopefully the new TV show is more science heavy. There was starting to be a cool rhythm for a while where TNG was slower paced sci-fi and the TOS crew was facing a blockbuster movie style threats every few years. I guess it only really came together for The Undiscovered Country & TNG seasons 4/5.
