Creation Entertainment, the organizers of the Official Star Trek Convention, have announced William Shatner as the first guest to appear at next year’s event in Las Vegas.
Creation broke the news on Wednesday afternoon via email, stating that Shatner is scheduled to appear on Saturday during the convention and would be there to “speak, sign autographs and do photo ops, including those on the recreation of the original Bridge.”
In recent years, Creation has assembled a guest list of more than 100 celebrity guests, representing all five live-action Star Trek television series along with the Prime and Kelvin Timeline feature films.
Returning for the fifth consecutive year to the Rio Suites Hotel, the 2017 Las Vegas Star Trek Convention will be spread over five days — kicking off Wednesday, August 2 and running through Sunday, August 6.
We are proud to welcome as our first guest to the 2017 Creation Entertainment Official STAR TREK Convention “The Man” himself, the iconic legend WILLIAM SHATNER. Bill will be with us on Saturday of the convention to speak, sign autographs and do photo ops, including those on the recreation of the original Bridge. An Emmy, People’s Choice and Golden Globe Winner, Mr. Shatner has been entertaining worldwide audiences for over six decades. After successful runs on Star Trek, T.J. Hooker, Boston Legal, and Rescue 911, his new TV series Better Late Than Never was just renewed for a second season. His one-man show, books, documentaries, lectures, and commercials have all made him one of the world’s most recognized entertainers.
At this time our top of the line GOLD WEEKEND PACKAGES are long since sold out and we have a small amount of our second tier of ticket packages available, CAPTAIN’S CHAIR PACKAGES. We also have a great new video filled with memories from last year’s event.
UPDATE:
On Friday, Creation announced the addition of two more Original Series stars: Nichelle Nichols and Walter Koenig.
