Tim Russ, Marina Sirtis Star In Crowdfunded Sci-Fi Film ‘5th Passenger’

“5th Passenger,” an independent crowdfunded science-fiction/horror film — featuring several former Star Trek actors — was successfully funded on Kickstarter and IndieGoGo last year.

Tim Russ (Tuvok on “Star Trek: Voyager”), Marina Sirtis (Counselor Deanna Troi on “Star Trek: The Next Generation”), Armin Shimerman (Quark on “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”), Manu Intiraymi (Icheb on “Star Trek: Voyager”) and Hana Hatae (Molly O’Brien on “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”) all appear in the film, which stars Morgan Lariah as a “strong female lead,” according to the press release.

Last weekend, the film’s teaser trailer was first shown to fans in attendance at Space City Comic Con in Houston.

“I’m really overwhelmed by the support we have received from the Star Trek, science fiction and horror communities,” said Scott Baker, the film’s director and co-writer, “so many people trusted us with their donations; we feel incredible pressure to not only spend the money wisely but also to create a fantastic film. Peoples’ reaction to the trailer so far has been nothing short of extraordinary.”

The film is currently in post production and no official release date has been announced.
