Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan Returns To Theaters This Fall To Celebrate 40th Anniversary

The Wrath of Khan returns to theaters for 3-night special engagement

Lock phasers on target and prepare for “The Wrath of Khan” to return to theaters later this year, as Fathom Events celebrates the 40th anniversary of the seminal Star Trek feature film.

Fans will have the opportunity to see Nicholas Meyer‘s Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan again on the big screen during a limited three-night engagement, running September 4th, 5th, and 6th in select U.S. theaters.

The screenings are being presented by Paramount Pictures in coordination with Turner Classic Movies.

Official description:

One of the most celebrated and essential adventures from the STAR TREK universe, STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN celebrates 40 years with the director’s cut on the big screen. On routine training maneuvers, Admiral James T. Kirk seems resigned that this may be the last space mission of his career. But an adversary from the past has returned with a vengeance. Aided by his exiled band of genetic supermen, Khan (Ricardo Montalban)—brilliant renegade of 20th century Earth—has raided Space Station Regula One, stolen the top-secret device called Project Genesis, wrested control of another Federation starship, and now schemes to set a most deadly trap for his old enemy Kirk… with the threat of a universal Armageddon.

This special 40th anniversary event includes exclusive insight from Turner Classic Movies.

Of course it’s only playing in the States, the centre of the world. It’s not like 2 of the main cast, or even Captain Kirk himself is Canadian.

    Oh wait.

Are you implying that by the 23rd century Canadas had taken over Iowa (since that’s where Kirk is from). When visiting Ottuwa try the poutine.

I know this is pretty nerdy nut why does the poster have the Enterprise firing on station Regula 1. I get that the image implies action but this aimed at hardcore fans who know that makes no sense

To drag the fans into the theater. It’s called false advertising.

Oh I can’t wait!!!! I’ve seen several re-screenings already like back to the future, robocop/terminator, evil dead 2.

Not sure why canadians are complaining. You guys mock Americans year round, and I don’t recall Canada playing re-screenings of AMERICAN made franchises like Star Trek.
I’d love to see Batman 1989 too and Aliens.
    The Godfather.

Well Jimmy, that is where you are mistaken. I watched Star Trek VI at the Cinesphere in full IMAX in Toronto a few years back. Quite a night. I believe the complaint for this particular event is advertised in Canada, as well as the USA, but there is no disclaimer noting it is not taking place in Canada. Perhaps a quick note on the appropriate website would be a good idea. I don’t think that is too much to ask. Do you?

So yes, we Canadians do re-screen and watch American movies.

      We just do it unarmed.

What does “unarmed” have to do with anything? Is that your sly attempt to make a mockery of our constitution and our God given right to defend ourselves? We’ll see who’s mocking who when your government strips ALL your rights like they’re doing at this very moment. Have fun with that in the great white north!
