Oh my! Happy Birthday George Takei

Happy Birthday, George Takei

Today, we’d like to wish Star Trek‘s original Hikaru Sulu, George Takei a very happy and healthy 74th birthday.

Born in Los Angeles on April 20, 1937, Takei was cast in Star Trek in 1965 by producer, Gene Roddenberry for the second pilot episode, Where No Man Has Gone Before. Takei would portray Sulu for all three seasons of The Original Series and six feature films.

George remains busy, with roles in both television and commercials along with a very active Twitter account. He ‘s recently appeared on The Big Bang Theory, Nickelodeon’s Supah Ninjas, and a very popular ad for Sharp’s Quattron televisions (which we’ve embedded below).

Happy birthday Mr. Takei!
