As we reported earlier today, CBS confirmed that Star Trek: The Next Generation will indeed be released on Blu-ray in 2012.

The first release will be the sampler disc, Star Trek: The Next Generation — The Next Level will be released on January 31.

The entire series of 178 episodes, remastered in full high-definition 1080p with 7.1 Master Audio, will follow that release.
