Neil deGrasse Tyson Confirms: The Enterprise is the Best

Last week, during San Diego Comic-Con, world renowned astrophysicist, author of The Pluto Files and star of History Channel’s The Universe, Neil deGrasse Tyson was asked to break a deadlock in the annual “Starship Smackdown” panel.

Discussing the pros and cons of the Star Wars‘ X-Wing Fighter and Millennium Falcon, Battlestar Galactica‘s Colonial Viper and Firefly’s Serenity, the panel included Free Enterprise producer Robert Meyer Burnett, Thor and X-Men: First Class cowriter Ashley Edward Miller, Geek Magazine’s editor Jeff Bond, Legend of the Seeker producer Kay Reindl, Star Wars: The Clone Wars writer Steve Melching and artist Chris Gossett.

When the decision came to a impasse, moderator Mark A. Altman asked for the audience’s help. Enter Dr. Tyson.

Proclaiming that the original Enterprise is “the most astonishing, awesome, beautiful, seductive” spaceship, Tyson was engulfed in cheers by the San Diego audience.
