Why do they keep trying to sell us stuff we already have but in a different package? I honestly wouldn’t mind but it’s clearly showing the hypocrisy of those that make the show verses the idea that their product is selling us. So yes let’s give all our money to a few people whom are selling us a product where money doesn’t matter.

The reboot movies have introduced a lot of new people to TOS who’ve never seen it before and who are buying DVD’s for the first time. Making an easy and attractive set for brand-new fans sounds reasonable to me!

It’s not just Star Trek, this fall the original 6 Star Wars films are being released for the zillionth time. Of course Dr. Who is starting to re-release episodes for four or five times in news sets. These properties are cash cows and the powers that be are counting on the various fan bases to keep buying the same stuff.
Based on the news that the TNG Blu-rays didn’t sell as well could be an indication that the party might be over for Trek.

I don’t mind the new release and new packaging, but PLEASE let them release the original versions, not the “remastered” version. Some folks want to see the series the way it originally aired, scratchy composites with matte lines and all. (Thank God this doesn’t apply to me since I have the 2009 BluRay release with both versions!)
